Jérôme Grosset-Janin gets closer

While Davy Jeanney (Citroën Rallycross, Jérôme Grosset-Janin (Citroën C4) is catching up on his rival in the title race. Winner in Dreux, during the last round, he also won this weekend, in Lavaré, in Sarthe.

During the D1 final, Jérôme Grosset-Janin, starting from pole, was able to run the perfect race to claim victory. Second on the grid, Davy Jeanney found himself stuck before choosing to take the joker lap during the first pass. In fifth position at the end of this lap, he was then able to move up to third place, finishing behind Fabien Pailler (Peugeot 207). Faster during his long lap, Jérôme Grosset-Janin was able to achieve a second consecutive victory.

In the general classification, Grosset-Janin is 13 points behind Jeanney, still leader. But, due to a “positive test” carried out on his fuel in Faleyras, the driver of the No. 5 Citroën Xsara still risks a penalty and a withdrawal of 11 points. The title is therefore far from being played.

In division 1A, Steven Bossard continues his impressive career. At Lavaré, he won his sixth consecutive race in six rounds of the French Championship. With 120 points on the clock, he cannot do better and is heading towards the title.
