The FFSA launches the Anthoine Hubert Trophy in karting

At the initiative of the FFSA, the 1st Anthoine Hubert Trophy will be launched in 2024 in Angerville in line with the great karting classics. As a tribute to an exemplary pilot, this competition will highlight the fundamental values ​​of sport.

The terrible accident which cost the life of Anthoine Hubert at the age of 22, during a race F2 at Spa-Francorchamps in 2019, caused strong emotion. Beyond the insurmountable pain caused to his family and loved ones, it is the sudden disappearance of a promising young 22-year-old driver, unanimously appreciated for his immense human qualities, which has shocked the entire sporting community. , of karting to the F1.

The Angerville circuit was renamed Circuit International Anthoine Hubert by the club where he had been a member since a young age. The 1st Anthoine Hubert Trophy will logically take place in Angerville from May 9 to 12, 2024, under the aegis of the FFSA with the support of Anthoine's family. The organization will be provided by ASK Angerville.

The values ​​of sport that have been carried by Anthoine throughout his career will be highlighted during several dynamic workshops open to all. The participation of all competitors will give a special dimension to this tribute throughout the meeting. A large central structure will host the various workshops in a friendly atmosphere as well as the meeting and information point for participants and chaperones in order to promote a unique and memorable atmosphere.

The Anthoine Hubert Trophy 2024 will be open to four federal categories: Mini 60, National, Senior and KZ2. Free practice will take place on Thursday February 9, before qualifying on Friday and Saturday, then the finals on Sunday May 12.

Even if the greatest reward for the competitors will be to have participated honorably in an extraordinary event, a prize is provided, notably by drawing lots. The competition will be organized according to the standards of a French FFSA Karting championship with its official timing and the usual race control.

In agreement with Anthoine's family, the FFSA aims to perpetuate the Anthoine Hubert Trophy on the FFSA Karting calendar for years to come. In the same spirit as the famous Andrea Margutti Trophy in Italy, which has continued successfully for 35 years, the idea is to make the Anthoine Hubert Trophy a great classic in which all drivers will be proud to participate.
