La car has its electric championship (Formula E), Tourism has the ETCR, and from 2023, the karting French will benefit from his electrical discipline. Indeed, the Lagorce Events Company headed by former driver Franck Lagorce, karting specialist Philippe Bianchi, and the French Motor Sport Federation (FFSA) become promoters of the E Kart City FFSA Trophy.

As its name suggests, this competition will only take place in cities in France. “We can confirm that we are in contact with around ten cities ready to get involved with us, rejoices Franck Lagorce. The 2023 program for the first “E kart City FFSA Trophy” will include for its first year four selection races on category B karts giving access to a grand final. The different cities and dates of the events will be communicated in agreement with the FFSA as soon as possible. »

– Selections will be made in different cities among children aged 8 to 12 without a license. Those selected will participate in the official race, “the Jules Bianchi Trophy”, and the first two will be selected for the final. The overall winner will receive the Jules Bianchi steering wheel, which will give them access to 4 regional races, which could allow them to qualify for the Coupe de France.

– The second event will feature FFSA licensed drivers aged 12 to 16 selected directly by the Karting leagues. The winner will be able, depending on their profile, to participate in an internship at the FFSA Academy after validation of the FFSA.

– A 2-hour endurance race for partners will take place on Saturday at the end of the day and a race bringing together professional drivers, stars and journalists will complete the line-up for each of the events.

Beyond the sporting part, a village around new electrical energies will be set up and numerous free activities will be offered to the public. A parade of pilots in town and a gala evening will also be organized.

The dates of the tests will be communicated as soon as possible after validation of the FFSA. In 2019, a first electric karting competition took place in the streets of Saint-Raphaël (Var):
