“Knapick” and Peu stand out

In Division 1, the weekend was very eventful for the leader of the French championship Marc Laboulle (Citroën WRC "). If Saturday went rather well, Sunday was much more difficult. Despite everything, he managed to qualify on the front row in Bergerac. An early departure by Jérôme Grosset-Janin (Citroën C4 “WRC”), however, forces the competitors to start a second time. But in the meantime, Laboulle does not see the flag and climbs on the right flank of the C4 of Grosset-Janin.

At the second start, a new clash between Laboulle and Grosset-Janin leaves the field open to Hervé “Knapick” (Peugeot 207 “WRC”) who takes the lead ahead of David Meslier (Renault Clio II RS “WRC”) and Fabien Pailler (Citroën Xsara “WRC”). Laboulle still leaves despite a flat front left tire. On the other hand, Grosset-Janin gives up. In the end, after winning in 2008, Hervé "Knapick" scored another victory in Bergerac and came within four points of Meslier, second in the general classification. David Meslier also performed well by gaining five points from Laboule to find himself 12 points behind the leader.

In Division 1A, the weekend is an opportunity for Samuel Peu to shine a little more. The Citroën Saxo driver brings his total to five victories in five races. Little at ease on Saturday, Peu doesn't leave much to his opponents on Sunday. Best time during the second and third qualifying heats, he signed his fifth pole of the season. At the start, he started in the lead and continued to gain a lead to win ahead of Davy Jeanney (Peugeot 206 Super 1600). In the general classification, he now has a 28-point lead over Eric Guillemette who took third place this weekend.
