Kristoffersson poorly placed for Q1 in Austin

Johan Kristoffersson (Volkswagen) will need to get off to a good start to the weekend this Saturday to secure good positions in the following qualifying heats. The potential double World RX champion at the end of the meeting in Austin (Texas), where the World RD is taking place for the first time, will start from last position in the first race, starting behind his compatriots Robin Larsson ( Ford) and Timmy Hansen (Peugeot ). Timur Timerzyanov (Hyundai) partira depuis la pole devant Sébastien Loeb (Peugeot).

If Johan Kristoffersson was unsuccessful in the grid draw, his teammate Petter Solberg had more success since he will start on pole for Race 2, starting ahead of Mattias Ekström (Audi), Grégoire Demoustier (Peugeot), Niclas Grönholm (Hyundai) and Kevin Hansen (Peugeot).

The last race will see Kevin Erksson (Ford) start from the best place ahead of his compatriot Anton Marklund (Renault), Janis Baumanis (Ford), Guerlain Chicherit (Renault) and Andreas Bakkerud (Audi).

If Andreas Bakkerud is poorly placed on the grid for his round, the Norwegian seems effective on the 812 meter track which is the shortest track of the season. EKS Audi Sport signed the best times with Mattias Ekström setting the 2nd fastest time ahead of Sébastien Loeb, Petter Solberg and Kevin Eriksson. Johan Kristoffersson ranked 6th in the session.

Q1 of World RX in Austin will be followed live streaming from 18:45 p.m. Q2 will start at 21:15 p.m.
