Last October, Nico Rosberg made headlines by announcing his arrival in Extreme E with his own team Rosberg Xtreme Racing. We then wondered if the world champion of F1 Was 2016 going to make a comeback to competition?
A little over a month after this announcement, we finally have an answer to this question. Nico Rosberg will not be RXR's male driver in next year's inaugural Extreme E campaign.
This role was entrusted to Johan Kristoffersson, recently crowned world champion of rallycross for the third time in his career. “ I am extremely proud to join Rosberg Xtreme Racing. Extreme E is a new discipline and a challenge visiting incredible places to convey a very important message. I'm happy to be part of it.
We have a team built for victory. We have a lot of preparation to do before the season starts next March. I am excited to begin », Rejoices the 32-year-old Swede.
However, the identity of the female pilot has not yet been revealed. The suspense remains.
The start of the first season of Extreme E is scheduled for next March (20-21).
