Kristoffersson returns to World RX with Volkswagen
He had a short run in the World Touring Car Cup (WTCR) in 2019, but the call from rallycross was too strong. Johan Kristoffersson returns to the World RX championship to try to win a third crown in 2020.

The Swede will find a Volkswagen Polo GTI RX in his own structure; his father Tommy Kristoffersson will occupy the position of Team Manager, as was the case in 2014 and 2015.

Engaged in WTCR as an official Volkswagen Motorsport driver after stopping the factory program in World RX, Johan Kristoffersson preferred to return to the discipline on a private basis rather than continuing on the circuits.

The record holder for World RX victories (20) will therefore ride with his family. “We hope to achieve good results from the start of the season, to give us a chance of having external support for the second half of the campaign”, announces Tommy Kristoffersson. A barely disguised reference to a financial extension from VW.
