Lagorce: “Prevent Dayraut from winning”

Franck Lagorce, how do you feel after the Super Besse round? What do you remember from this victory?
It has a taste of pride because it has been shown that the Andros Trophy is very hard to win. It was absolutely necessary to win here, at all costs to prevent Dayraut from winning again. We didn't give up, we showed our team spirit. It could have been Olivier, it could have been me. But we wanted to show that Skodas are more in the game than ever. Unfortunately, Olivier made a mistake which cost him second place, or even victory. But the most important thing is that we share these victories. I am very happy, very proud to share this with them. I thank Skoda and Olivier for trusting me to join this team.

Do you believe in your final victory?
The most important thing is to win races, not necessarily to think about the Trophy, even if that is the goal. With the countdown, I am third, so everything is still playable. From the start, we only talk about Cheers and Dayraut; It makes me smile because we forget that we have to count the two worst results. We are here, that?s the most important thing. There are two races left to complete in Lans-en-Vercors. I love this circuit. I'm going to leave with 60 kg of ballast but I already won there with 60 kg. I'm waiting to see how it goes but I'm going to give my best to get the Trophy.

Is it the right strategy to arrive in ambush behind the two favorites before the last round?
Yes and no? There is no real strategy. The Andros Trophy has this particularity that we must constantly question ourselves, in each race, in each lap, in each turn. Only those who understand this can claim to win Andros one day. This is the direction we must go. I don't know how to calculate. That?s why I left school at 16!

Will your teammates be able to help you in the title race? What will their role be?
Their role is to represent the Skoda brand and to have a certain pride in the brand and to remain as sporty as possible. It's true that Olivier could have taken big points from the competition this weekend. This is the direction in which we are going to work. We will join hands to get there. We are two friends in two cars; two winning cars. We have this chance compared to others. I hope we can make it happen together.
