Lamera Cup – ETC Racing takes on Race 1 at Le Castellet

This Saturday the inaugural race of the 2020 Lamera Cup championship was played on the Paul-Ricard circuit (4 hours). Joffrey Dorchy, Julien Froment and Roman Autajon (ETC Racing) took victory overall and in the Elite category.

In the Var heat, the trio who started from second place on the grid had an eventful race. An hour after the start, vapor lock problems (fuel evaporation) forced the Lamera n°14 to refuel outside the windows imposed by the organizer. As a result, the crew received a 50-second stop & go before resuming the track in 13th position.

“This is our second season in Lamera and our first in the Elite category. Starting with a victory is very encouraging, our goal being to win the championship, analyzes Joffrey Dorchy.

The homogeneity of our crew and the preparation of the car, which allowed us to run without any technical problems during the last three hours of the race, were decisive in our comeback”

Hervé Tremblaye, Ludovic Loeul and Antoine Etienne (Alma Racing) finished on the second step of the Elite podium ahead of Emmanuel Orgeval, Benoit Gruan and Jean-Marc Casals (team Asphalte).

Double blow for ETC Racing since Olivier Dufour, Michel Ode and Kevin Parsa won in the Pro-Am category. The Belgian team Genius Water Racing took victory in the Gentleman category thanks to Tim Nagels, Elle Geerits and Jan Van Meerbeek.

Tomorrow Sunday, the 30 cars entered in the championship will take on the Paul-Ricard circuit for an 8-hour race. Departure is set for 9:30 a.m.
