Project E remains on track for 2020

A few days after the FIA announced the postponement of electrification in World RX until 2022, the organizers of Projekt E have reaffirmed their desire to launch the support series in 2020. The calendar would offer a season over 5 European rounds.

World RX was unable to launch its season on schedule due to the coronavirus pandemic. IMG, the company that manages the world championship of rallycross, is actively working on a new schedule. The idea would be to condense the European events into summer, if the health measures implemented by governments allow it.

“The top priority is to keep everyone healthy during these difficult times, comments Michael Sakowicz, CEO of Stard. Since the delivery of the first Ford Fiesta Projekt E to Holten Motorsport in November, we have built more cars and we continue our work. We plan to launch Project E as soon as circumstances permit. »

The Projekt E is an electric series using 4-wheel drive electric cars developing 450kW and produced by Stard.
