The Morocco Rally presents its route

Contested from October 10 to 14, the Rally of Morocco will give pride of place to dune courses, as specified by the organizers this Wednesday.

The route of the event, 2044 km long for FIA cars, will not start from Agadir as initially planned, but will be designed around a bivouac near M'Hamid south of Zagora. A necessary reorganization in the face of the coronavirus pandemic which forced the organization to adapt on many points.

It is thus specified that “the very large format bivouac will be the unique living space allowing the Rally to organize itself with the greatest possible autonomy and meet the following requirements:

– Security: limit exchanges with the outside world as much as possible.

– Economical: the bivouac will meet all technical needs (fuel stations for vehicles, physiotherapists for participants, etc.), accommodation and catering, various purchases thanks to the establishment of a solidarity souk.

– Conviviality: the entire caravan in the same place with spaces sized to allow exchanges and physical distancing. »

Three loops in the Chegaga erg, with sand as a major element, then two loops along the Draa valley on alternating terrain with fast and technical passages will be on the menu.

Note that the color road book will be distributed as planned every morning to competitors, the paper and electronic versions remaining on the program in 2020, when only the digital format will be retained in 2021.
