Silk Way Rally 2020 canceled

La coronavirus pandemic got the better of the 2020 edition of the Silk Way Rally, 10th anniversary of the event. Faced with the virus raging around the world, and for the safety of all stakeholders, the organizers had to stand behind the Russian government decisions.

“Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation D.N. Chernychenko endorsed the proposal of the Ministry of Sports of Russia and the Russian Automobile Federation to cancel the 10th edition of the Silk Way Rally in 2020 which was scheduled to take place from July 2 to 11 2020, says the press release.

The health of the participants and the public being an absolute priority, the event management understands this decision, taken after an in-depth study of the situation and numerous consultations with all the authorities concerned.

Despite the immense preparation work carried out by the organizing teams, the organizer still has to face numerous uncertainties relating to border crossings, air traffic restrictions and the various quarantine measures still in force for foreign citizens. . »
