Goodwood Festival of Speed ​​2020 theme revealed

The 28th edition of the Goodwood Festival of Speed ​​(Great Britain) took place from July 9 to 12, 2020 and will have the main theme “The Maestros – The versatile drivers of motorsport”. 

This exceptional meeting, organized by the Duke of Richmond on his own estate, will celebrate several big names in motor racing. The first confirmed legend is Belgian Jacky Ickx, undoubtedly the best example of versatility.

 

 

Both a six-time winner of 24 Hours of Le Mans, at Paris-Dakar, in the European Touring Car Championship, in Formula 2, riding a Formula 1 and Can-Am, Jacky Ickx will mingle with the public of enthusiasts with great pleasure.

“The Duke of Richmond created an event based on respect and with this particular spirit, which we could call “soul”, specifies Jacky Ickx. Without a doubt it is moving to be invited to this party. In my time, we were a bit of a 'freelancer', running around everywhere, in different categories. »

Several other drivers will be in the spotlight, some missing, such as John Surtees (the only athlete to have won the F1 and motorcycle world championships) or Jim Clark (double title in F1, success at the Indy 500 and in rally) and Graham Hill (holder of the Triple Crown).

 

 

Sir Stirling Moss, withdrawn from any public demonstration, will also be entitled to his retro sequence, with undoubtedly demonstrations of Mercedes 1950s. The Star brand will be present at Goodwood, as will, watch your eyes: Ferrari, Porsche,Lotus, McLaren, Williams, Penske and Ganassi, while waiting for other announcements!
