Les Dix Mille Tours, end of 2019 series

For two days (October 19 and 20), the Paul Ricard circuit was the setting for the Dix Mille Tours, the last meeting of the Series by Peter Auto. This timeless event paid tribute to the golden era of motorsport with more than 350 historic cars on the track. A record for this tenth edition which marks the end of the 2019 season.

Les Dix Mille Tours, end of 2019 series

Thursday October 17, the first competitors and their cars arrive on the circuit. This day is dedicated to checks, an obligatory step for drivers and their cars. Those participating in the race must present their licenses and driving equipment in order to be authorized to get behind the wheel.

As for the cars, they are subject to a real examination by the technical commissioners. The objective? Check that the PTH (Historic Technical Passport), allowing a vehicle to participate in a historic motorsport event, is compliant in all respects. The lights are green, the races can begin.

The points race on the 2.0L Cup and CER 1 grids

This weekend's races have a lot at stake for some drivers: they represent the last opportunity to score points in the general classification of the season. In the 2.0L Cup field for example, the Andrew Smith / Olivier Bryant (2nd in the standings) and Richard Cook / Harvey Stanley (3rd in the standings) crews were tied in number of points (164) before the start of the race.

The Dix Mille Tours event can thus allow Richard Cook and Harvey Stanley to climb to second place on the podium for the 2019 season. It is ultimately the Andrew Smith / Olivier Bryant crew which takes the advantage during the Dix Mille Towers. They maintain their second place in the general ranking for the season.

A rivalry that dates back to the 60s during which the two models competed for the victory of 24 Hours of Le Mans. Just like back then, the Porsche 917 is the big winner of the season. A Lola (#79) will nevertheless save honor by winning the Dix Mille Tours race.

An end to the season therefore, but in style on the Paul Ricard circuit with some nice battles on track to win the title of each grid. Winners to be discovered in a few days on Peter Auto's social networks.
