Lionel Régal takes advantage of the rain

If the 2010 season seemed more open than the previous ones, the results remain the same. As mid-season approaches (6 rounds played out of 13), Lionel Régal is well placed to take over from himself. Author of four victories in six events, the five-time French Champion escapes the ranking, following his success in Saint Gouéno.

In the first climb of the weekend, Lionel Régal (Reynard 1KL F3000 Nippon) achieves the best time in the field, in 1:16:038. Only Nicolas Schatz (Lola T94/50) manages to compete but he still finds himself almost a second and a half behind! On the second climb, Schatz managed to improve his time but did not erase Régal's time, which lowered the reference mark, to 1:15:779. Finally, Nicolas Schatz's hopes were dampened by the arrival of light rain, knowing that he would not be able to come back in the third round on Régal, who pocketed his fourth victory of the season. He is now the leader with 216 points, twenty points better than Nicolas Schatz.

In closed cars, it is Nicolas Werver (Porsche 997 Cup) who won, beating Anthony Cosson (Porsche 996 Cup) and Francis Dosières (BMW 320 ST). It is Werver who now dominates the general championship ranking with 206 points, eight points more than Francis Dosières.
