Lionel Régal wins at the wire

Lionel Régal, five-time French Mountain Champion, found a tough opponent in Nicolas Schatz. This season, the 2008 Espoir Echappement is determined to stand in the way of the Lyonnais, who will have to work extra hard to win a sixth consecutive title.

Nicolas Schatz then took out a set of new tires and beat his best time but, in 48??157, he failed thirteen thousandths behind the French Champion.
