The second excursion of the Dakar in Saudi Arabia, scheduled for January 3 to 15, 2021, will include a new team: Bahrain Raid Xtreme, also known as BRX. Founded by Prodrive, the team based in England will evolve with a new buggy with a twin-turbo V6 petrol engine.

BRX announced its first driver this Tuesday, September 15. This is the Spaniard Nani Roma, winner of the 2014 edition on behalf of X-Raid. Aged 48, the French-speaking, former biker, thus finds an ideal way to relaunch his career after an inglorious stint with Borgwaard (27th in 2020).
« The ambition of everyone involved in BRX is extremely exciting and I can't wait to be part of this team challenge, declared Nani Roma, one of only three winners of the event at the start. There is a huge amount of experience in so many areas at BRX, and to be able to lead this challenge towards success in the Dakar is an opportunity I had to be a part of. The combination of Mumtalakat in supporting motorsport and the expertise of David Richards and Prodrive in building performance cars is sending out a number of positive signs and reshuffling the cards within the Dakar. »
BRX Team Principal David Richards said: “Nani is one of the most experienced drivers in the Dakar, having participated in the rally on 24 occasions, with victories in both motorcycles and cars. He has already worked closely with Prodrive engineers to provide valuable information and over the coming months he will carry out thousands of kilometers of testing in Europe and the Middle East.
