Third stage of the Qatar Cross Country Rally, first round of the World Cup Rally-2019 raids and third stage victory for the duo Nasser Al-Attiyah – Matthieu Baumel.
The tandem imposed its Toyota Hilux this Sunday on the longest special stage of the event, just over 350 km long. Intractable throughout the day, Al-Attiyah is now ahead of Yazeed Al-Rajhi (Toyota) by 9'52", although he suffered a puncture today.
Jakub Przygonski (Mini), second this morning before the start, fell to third place, but 54″ behind Al-Rajhi. The top 5 remains completed by Vladimir Vasilyev (BMW) and Yasir Hamad Seaidan (Mini), 47′ and 1h22′ behind Al-Attiyah.
Provisional ranking after 3rd stage:
1. Nasser Saleh Al Attiyah/Matthieu Baumel (Toyota Hilux) – 7hr 12min 42sec
2. Yazeed Mohammed Al-Rajhi/Dirk Von Zitzewitz (Toyota Hilux Overdrive) – 7hr 22min 34sec
3. Jakub Przygonski/Timo Gottschalk (John Cooper Works Rally) – 7hr 23min 28sec
4. Vladimir Vasilyev/Konstantin Zhiltsov (BMW X3CC) – 7hr 47min 10sec
5. Yasir Hamad Seaidan/Laurent Lichtleuchter (X-raid Mini) – 8hr 34min 47sec
