It is with great sadness that we learned this Sunday, August 15, of the disappearance of Nathalie Maillet. Expected at the Spa-Francorchamps circuit, of which she has been the director since 2016, for the arrival of Rally from Ypres, she never showed up.

After some research, the tragic news broke. She was reportedly found dead at her home with two other people, including her companion Franz Dubois, the creator of the Funcup. However, the public prosecutor's office in Luxembourg, the province where his home is located, has not yet confirmed anything.

Daughter of a driver, Nathalie Maillet has never hidden her love for cars and especially motorsport. In 2016, she was appointed head of the Spa-Francorchamps circuit in place of the resigning Pierre-Alain Thibaut.

“My thoughts are with Nathalie’s family, her parents, her loved ones but also her teams. I know to what extent this news will upset its colleagues and I wish on behalf of the entire Board of Directors to extend my sincere condolences to the entire Circuit team, regrets Melchior Wathelet, President of the Board of Directors of the Circuit de Spa- Francorchamps. Today we are losing a very great lady, a lover and enthusiast of motor sports, a true leader who will be greatly missed. Nathalie had become the face of the circuit, she embodied this passion for racing that we all share.”
