Very attached to the environment (different investments or even founder of the Greentech Festival, an event dedicated to sustainability), Nico Rosberg has once again shown his commitment to the fight for the protection of the planet.
Far from the F1 since 2016 and his world champion title, the German has become more interested in new technologies and in particular electric power in motorsport. As proof, he got behind the wheel of the ID.R, Volkswagen's 100% electric racing car and holder of numerous records, on the Nürburgring Grand Prix track.
« It's been a while since I've driven a real race car, but I immediately felt like a fish in water. The ID.R is fantastic to drive, recognized Nico Rosberg when he got out of the car before continuing.
The traction, the acceleration, the downforce, everything was extremely familiar. Congratulations to the Volkswagen engineers who have done a lot of innovative work in the field of electro-mobility with the ID.R. The objective of motorsport is to evolve mobility as a whole ».
At the Nürburgring, Nico Rosberg was able to do a few laps aboard the ID.R. The opportunity for him to test the handling, acceleration and even the speed of Volkswagen's 100% electric racing car.
