Ogier and Lotterer among the drivers of the Extreme E Drivers' Program

If we will have to wait until 2021 to see the Odyssey 21, 100% electric SUVs, set off to attack the most extreme regions of the world to focus on climate change and the solutions to combat this global upheaval, the organizers of the series Extreme E are already working to attract big names in motorsport.

A task that had already seen Sébastien Ogier, reigning world rally champion, join the adventure as an official ambassador and technical and sporting advisor. Alejandro Agag's troops have now taken a new step with the establishment of a Drivers' Program, bringing together drivers who have expressed their interest in the discipline.

In addition to Ogier, Andreas Bakkerud, Kevin and Timmy Hansen, who came from World RX, just like the double champion DTM Timo Scheider, W Series winner Jamie Chadwick, Katherine Legge, Mikaela Åhlin-Kottulinsky, Sacha Cheers and the residents of the Formula E Andre Lotterer and Lucas di Grassi join this program.

“The series organizers will recommend potential competitors from its program to the teams, indicates Extreme E. However, if teams wish, they will have the freedom to select their own drivers outside of this group. »

The series had recently confirmed Greenland as the destination for its first season, with development trials of the Odyssey 21 continuing, before seeing the teams involved, including Venturi, HWA and ABT, who have already made their presence official.
