Olivier Panis imperial at Isola 2000

Olivier, is it a great first day for you?

Yes of course. We had to manage these very particular conditions because there is a lot of tar that appeared on the track, but in the end the conditions are the same for everyone. I think we did good teamwork yesterday for qualifying. Whether with Franck Lagorce or Evens Stievenart we tried a lot of different things to tune the car. In these kinds of track conditions, it?s obviously an advantage to have several cars in the team. Then, I had to finalize the work on the track and beating Jean-Philippe Dayraut here was not an easy thing so it's a great pleasure.

You join Alain Prost among the drivers who have won twice this season?
Whatever happens, to win the Trophy, you have to win races. When you have 60 kilos of ballast, it means that you have just won and that things are going well. This will be my case this afternoon for the second day but I won't think about it so I can let go again as I have already done and try to score other big points.

The track has almost no ice left and it won't get any better this afternoon?
It is certain that we will have to adapt to these particular conditions. We are going to have to change the settings of our cars so that they are more “Tar” type. This morning, I had a very excellent car in the race so we will work on this good base. Tire management may be complicated this afternoon but we have already broken in our new tires this morning so we'll see!
