Pikes Peak – Positive day for Romain Dumas

Provisional best qualifying times, Romain Dumas was able to take advantage of the day at Pikes Peak to compete in the central part of the famous Colorado climb, between the portions of Glen Cove and Devil's Playground.

Over the course of four passages in this section, one of the windiest of the course, the Gardois was able to try a wide range of settings on his Norma M20 RD Limited prototype, developed in collaboration with Norbert Santos' teams.

“These tests were productive. We were able to review a certain number of adjustment options and we are moving forward according to the established schedule, underlines the pilot Porsche en Endurance. We must not forget that the car is relatively new and that it is a completely new challenge to have four-wheel drive.

So we worked on this point, on a part that is very different from yesterday and which lends itself well to this. We have made good progress at this level but we are also discovering new issues. At the same time, the electric prototypes did not improve our qualifying time. This is positive but it also shows us that the gap is not significant and that we must not relax. »

Rhys Millen, defending champion, has not yet been able to improve on the best mark established by the Frenchman during the first qualifications in 3'34″552.
