Pikes Peak – Romain Dumas again winner

After his first victory in 2014, Romain Dumas won again at Pikes Peak (Colorado). A week after his second victory at the 24 Hours of Le Mans with Porsche, l’Alésien a décroché un nouveau succès en bouclant la montée de 20 km en 8’51’’445 au volant de sa Norma M20 RD.

The Frenchman set the second time in the history of Pikes Peak, Sébastien's absolute record Loeb achieved in 2013 with a time of 8'13''878 remaining inaccessible.

However, the official Porsche driver did not have an easy victory. After seeing his tests disrupted in the last part of the climb following engine failure which occurred on Friday June 24, the Frenchman faced strong competition.

Rhys Millen, winner in 2015, fell just six seconds behind the wheel of his eO PP100 electric prototype. The American is the only one with Romain Dumas to have crossed the symbolic bar of 9'00. Testuya Yamano (4-Motor EV Concept) finished 14 seconds behind the benchmark for this edition.
