First victory of the season for Timmy Hansen

The first final of the Barcelona weekend kept all its promises from the moment the lights went out.

On the front row alongside Timmy Hansen, Johan Kristoffersson got out as best he could (the front bumper destroyed) at the head of the first turn. Then begins a three-way battle between the championship leader and the Hansen brothers. Behind, the Ekström-Grönholm-Bakkerud trio tried to come back, in vain.

At the head of the final, Johan Kristoffersson resists the Hansen siblings who have no choice but to try a different strategy. Thus, Timmy goes through the joker lap on the third loop before being imitated by Kevin on the fourth pass. A choice that will bear fruit at the end of the race.

Forced to give everything to distance Timmy Hansen as much as possible, Johan Kirstoffersson performed his joker lap during the 6th and last loop of the final. Unfortunately, it's too late. The Swede saw Timmy Hansen slipping under his nose and despite his attempt to overtake in the final meters his fourth victory of the season also eluded him.

First success of the year for Timmy Hansen after a huge battle against the world championship leader. Johan Kristoffersson is content with second place but the stewards could penalize him for his collision with Timmy Hansen. Kevin Hansen completes the podium. Niclas Grönholm, Mattias Ekström and Andreas Bakkerud bring up the rear.

In the championship, Johan Kristoffersson is still in the lead ahead of Mattias Ekström and Timmy Hansen.
