Prost: “A virile fight”

The duel between Alain Prost (Dacia Duster) and Jean-Philippe Dayraut (Skoda Fabia) during the second Elite Sup final of race 2 in Val Thorens will undoubtedly remain one of the most beautiful races of the Andros Trophy. Door to door in almost every corner, Prost and Dayraut fought for victory for a long time, before the Skoda driver gave up in the face of the self-sacrifice of the quadruple world champion. F1.

“I am happy to offer this first victory to the Dacia Duster. I think the final was a great spectacle, with a virile and sporting fight,” declared Alain Prost after the race. For the ?Professor?, the outcome of this weekend was positive. “ We were dreading this first weekend because we knew we weren't quite ready. The team did a fantastic job improving the car throughout the weekend and we managed to achieve a victory. This is proof that the Dacia Duster is well born and that we will have to be counted on for the title. The balance sheet for this first weekend is satisfactory, since I occupy second position in the Trophy, just four points behind Jean-Philippe Dayraut. »

However, on Saturday, Alain Prost saw his Duster suffer during the Elite Sup final of race 1. But, after a lot of work from the Dacia team, the Frenchman was able to recover his vehicle in perfect working order on Sunday morning. “ This is a result that I dedicate above all to the mechanics, who spent a good part of the night rebuilding the car. », underlined Alain. “ This result almost exceeds our expectations for this first weekend of the year. We still have a lot of room for improvement on the car, with developments to come in all areas. »
