After a blank season in 2020, the rallycross national is gradually undertaking its return to competition. While waiting for the elections of the new president of AFOR (French Association of Rallycross Organizers), the participants discovered the calendar that awaits them in 2021.
Unfortunately, the latter will already experience a first modification due to the health crisis. Scheduled for Lessay (Manche), the start of the season has been postponed.
« This is the wisest decision at this time », recognizes Jean-Jacques Bénézet who does not say “ worried » for the rest of the campaign even if he is aware that it will not be easy.
Scheduled for the weekend of April 9, Lessay (Manche) will therefore not be the scene of the opening of the 2021 financial year, leaving - for the moment - its place at Essay (Orne) from May 21 to 23.
In the meantime, the organizers of the round in Lessay have submitted a proposed date to the FFSA (French Automobile Sport Federation) which must now give its approval. The trend is towards a rescheduling of the Normandy meeting in July. The new date will be communicated at a later date.
