Baciuska surprising leader after Saturday's heats at Lohéac

The GC Compétition ends the first day of the World Championship of rallycross (World RX) in Lohéac (Ille-et-Vilaine) at the top of the ranking. Based on this premise, a first in the history of the French team, spectators would have expected a performance from boss-driver Guerlain Chicherit or Cyril Raymond.

However, it is the European S1600 champion, Rokas Baciuska, which is at the top! On his Renault Mégane RS, the Lithuanian drafted by GC Kompetition at the mid-season mark, surprised all observers by winning Q2.

The hierarchy is also disrupted by the presence of the wild-card Toomas Heikkinen (Hyundai) au deuxième rang. The Finn from the GRX team is ahead track rider Timo Scheider (Seat), another surprise guest on the provisional podium.

You have to wait until fourth position to find one of the favorites for the title: Timmy Hansen (Peugeot ). The Swede is only a few points ahead of Andreas Bakkerud (Audi), the latter having clashed with Anton Marklund (Renault) in Q1:

On their land, the French are not celebrating. Fabien Pailler (Peugeot) is the best representative in 13th place, ahead of Guerlain Chicherit (14th) and Jonathan Pailler (Peugeot, 16th). The other tricolors are even further away.
