Bakkerud absent from semi-finals
Andreas Bakkerud will not compete in the World RX semi-finals at the Yas Marina Circuit in Abu Dhabi. The Monster Energy RX Cartel rider was disqualified from Q3 for hitting the Peugeot 208 WRX of Timmy Hansen, ending the Swede's weekend as he topped the standings after winning the first two qualifying rounds.
The stewards said he was fully responsible for the high-speed collision that occurred in Q3 when Timmy Hansen exited his wild lap. The former leader of the event had to throw in the towel, the rollbar of his 208 WRX having been affected.
Reinis Nitiss (Hyundai) devrait donc récupérer la place vacante pour les demi-finales.
