Esktröm and EKS win Q3 in Estering

Mattias Ekström won the third qualifying round of World RX in Estering ahead of his teammate Andreas Bakkerud. Sébastien Loeb remains behind after contact.

Esktröm and EKS win Q3 in Estering

The EKS Audi S1 ​​quattros were the fastest in the third qualifying round of the World RX in Estering (Germany). Mattias Ekström set the best time ahead of his teammate Andreas Bakkerud. The Norwegian won the last race ahead of Timmy Hansen (Peugeot ), 3e, et les Volkswagen de Petter Solberg et Johan Kristoffersson qui se classent derrière Niclas Grönholm (Hyundai).

 

 

 

 

Andreas Bakkerud was unfairly given a hard time by the reigning double world champion, annoyed at having had his door closed after missing his start.

Sébastien Loeb (Peugeot) only set the 10th fastest time. The Alsatian was taken off the track by Janis Baumanis (Ford) who finished 13th. The nine-time champion WRC ranked behind Kevin Eriksson (Ford), Kevin Hansen (Peugeot) and Anton Marklund (Renault).

Liam Doran (Renault) failed at the gates of the Top 10 ahead of Timur Timerzyanov (Hyundai) who won his race. Guerlain Chicherit (Renault) only finished 15th between Robin Larsson (Ford) and wildcard Kjetil Larsen (Volkswagen) after stalling when the lights went out.

Q3 has not yet smiled on Cyril Raymond (Peugeot). The European champion was in the lead before being overtaken by Timur Timerzyanov and then found himself spinning during his passage through the joker lap. the Frenchman set the last time behind Grégoire Demoustier (Peugeot), Oliver Bennett (Mini) and René Münnich (Seat).

 

 

Johan Kristoffersson retains the lead in the standings ahead of his teammate Petter Solberg. Mattias Ekström climbs to 3rd place ahead of his teammate Andreas Bakkerud. Timmy Hansen is now in the Top 5 ahead of his brother Kevin, while Sébastien Loeb remains 8th between Niclas Grönholm and Kevin Eriksson. Anton Marklund still completes the Top 10. His teammate Guerlain Chicherit slipped to 12th between Janis Baumanis and Liam Doran. Cyril Raymond is in the last row behind Grégoire Demoustier.
