Hayden Paddon strengthens the Global grids Rallycross Europe from the launch of the series. Without steering wheel for the 2019 season WRC where he evolved until now with Hyundai, the 31-year-old New Zealander will compete in the premier category on a Pantera RX6 chassis. It will continue to defend the interests of the Korean manufacturer since it will evolve with a Hyundai i30 body.
“Rallycross is not completely new to me because I have done rally for a long time, but I'm going to have to get used to driving with cars around me, underlines the winner of the 2016 Rally Argentina. GRC Europe will be a new challenge that I am looking forward to taking on and where I hope to perform well. »
Hayden Paddon will notably face the Hansen brothers Timmy and Kevin or even Alexander Wurz. The Kiwi specified that he would be present in the 6 rounds of the calendar and that “Other rally news would be revealed soon. »
Something a bit different but excited to join the new GRC Europe this year for 6 rounds of Rallycross. We will be lining up against some very good drivers and will be at the wheel of a Hyundai i30 Pantra X6 – 550bhp and 750nm. https://t.co/7YuO2E2DU4. More Rally news soon pic.twitter.com/sT0wvh51Jz

“We are delighted to see Hayden join our grids, adds Max Pucher, president of GRC Europe. He has always been one of my favorite drivers with his unique style of riding. It is interesting to watch and I am sure the audience will love it. »
Hyundai is also represented in World RX with Marcus Grönholm's GRX team present with chassis from the old i20 WRC. The first GRC Europe tests will take place at the MJP Arena Fuglau (Austria) at the beginning of May, while the first round will be contested in Dreux (Eure-et-Loir) on June 29 and 30.
