Johan Kristoffersson wins in Cape Town

Johan Kristoffersson (Volkswagen) won his 11 victory of the season in 12 rounds, the 20th of his career, by winning the World RX final in Cape Town (South Africa). The reigning double world champion won ahead of Mattias Ekström (Audi) who took the honorary place of vice-champion against Sébastien Loeb (Peugeot ) who completed the podium.

If Peugeot had not managed to secure the first row against the imperial Polo R which won the semi-finals, the Lion still managed to place its three 208 WRXs in the final. Timmy Hansen was well on his way to the podium, but the Swede retired, probably following contact with Petter Solberg (Volkswagen). The three-time world champion also had to put his foot down. Kevin Hansen finished in 4th place.

The Renault Mégane R.S.

Oliver Eriksson won the RX2 title against Guillaume de Ridder who was unable to compete in the semi-final following a mechanical problem. Ben-Philip Gundersen scored his second victory of the season by taking advantage of the champion's retirement in the final, also the victim of a mechanical problem.
