Kris Meeke will debut in Rallycross at Lohéac

Lohéac will host the seventh event of the European Championship season on August 31 and September 1. Rallycross. This meeting will be particularly important in the season since Petter Solberg will find himself facing his former opponent Sébastien Loeb. But Albatec Racing has registered a new star of the WRC in the entry list with Kris Meeke who will also make his debut in the discipline. If the Irishman continues to be active since he works as a development pilot for Peugeot and Citroën and thathe will replace Khalid Al-Qassimi at the next Rally Finland (August 1 to 3), his rallycross experience is limited to one race on an RX150 buggy.

“I can’t believe I’m going to drive a car with that much power, it’s just incredible”, commented Kris Meeke who will ride Andy Scott's Peugeot 208 which has a power of 600hp. “There are a lot of things to learn: tires are different from those used in rally, they are softer to provide better traction at the start, but do not have the same longitudinal grip. Power management will also be taken into account. I have experience with the new 208 T16. There are similarities but also many differences. With 2,5 times more power, the 600hp will be an important factor. »
