Kristoffersson beats Loeb in the snow of Montalegre

Johan Kristoffersson (Volkswagen) becomes the best winner in World RX by winning his second consecutive final in Montalegre (Portugal), becoming the only driver in the discipline with 11 successes. The reigning world champion spent the race in the lead while waiting for the last lap to take his joker lap even though the event was contested in heavy snow.

The Swede previously took advantage of the duel between the two EKS Audi Sport drivers Andreas Bakkerud and Mattias Ekström in his semi-final to have a good position on the grid for the last event of the weekend. The former champion of DTM failed at the gates of the final by being beaten by Guerlain Chicherit (Renault) who qualified the Mégane RS RX on the last grid of the meeting from its second participation.

The Peugeot driver lost everything by spinning after winning his semi-final ahead of his teammate Sébastien Loeb who ended the weekend by once again taking second place.

Petter Solberg (Volkswagen) completed the podium after narrowly qualifying for the final by taking advantage of the duel between Janis Baumanis (Ford) and Kevin Eriksson (Ford).
