Kristoffersson starts strong at Hell

Johan Kristoffersson (Volkswagen) could not have hoped for a better start to his weekend in Hell (Norway). The Championship leader won the first two qualifying heats and concluded the first day ahead of Sébastien Loeb (Peugeot ), second and third of the two rankings.

The Volkswagen Polo R's of the PSRX Volkswagen Sweden are in good form with Petter Solberg completing the top three after finishing in the top four each time.

The EKS Audi S1 quattros are also well placed with Mattias Ekström in fourth place, three positions ahead of his teammate Andreas Bakkerud who is behind the Hansen brothers (Peugeot).

Timur Timerzyanov (Hyundai) retired in Q2 after going off the track and losing his duel against Sébastien Loeb, but the resident of the GRX team still completes the provisional Top 12.

GCK drivers Jérôme Grosset-Janin and Guerlain Chicherit will have to fight to reach the semi-finals. Both Renault Mégane RS RX encountered clutch problems in Q1, relegating the former to 15th place and the boss-driver to 17th.

For his debut in Rallycross, Alex Wurz (Ford) showed promising performances. However, the double winner of 24 Hours of Le Mans only occupies 20th position after being penalized twice with a second passage through the joker lap for having anticipated the start.

Grégoire Demoustier (Peugeot) is in 22nd and penultimate place. The Sébastien Loeb Racing driver retired in Q1 after losing a wheel.
