The Spa round will not take place this year

After the cancellation of the Rally of Ypres, whose route notably had to pass through the Spa-Francorchamps circuit, the round of World RX organized within the Ardennes slide appeared in danger, faced with the health deterioration linked to the coronavirus pandemic.

The ax fell this Wednesday with the announcement of the cancellation of the second edition of Spa World RX. The round, initially scheduled for May, had been postponed to November 21 and 22 before this cancellation.

“This decision is linked to an exceptional situation and even if it saddens all the teams who worked so hard to hold this second edition, which we had announced would be held behind closed doors following the deterioration of the health situation, our priority is and will remain the health and safety of all. » indicates Nathalie Millet, director of the Belgian circuit.

The Spa meeting in 2021 should be held on May 22 and 23, 2021 subject to validation of the calendar.
