The rounds of the French championship rallycross 2020 is falling one behind the other. After Mayenne and Kerlabo over the last two weeks, it was Dreux who “threw in the towel” given the current health situation. A massive blow for the organizers.
“The announcement of the cancellation of three of the four events in recent days is a real shock for my team and myself,” regrets Jean-Jacques Bénézet, president of AFOR (French Association of RallyCross Organizers).
“We have worked tirelessly since March 17 and the start of confinement to put a Championship back together. Not a single day went by without an exchange with the organizers, with the FFSA, with the partners and with the entire Rallycross France team around me.”
Not being the owner of the French rallycross championship, AFOR “must submit to the rules imposed by the FFSA in terms of announcement, communication and/or decision” to know its fate.
AFOR announces that the work is, however, “not finished. We are awaiting this decision and we will then work to prepare for the future and share our passion as quickly as possible as we all dream of.”
