The French Rallycross championship officially canceled

« This 2020 championship is dead! Quite frankly, we are already looking towards 2021. We no longer have any hope ". These are the words of Jean-Jacques Bénézet in the columns of our n°2273. Disappointed, the president of AFOR (French Association of Organizers of Rallycross) faced the facts regarding the impossibility of competing in the 2020 French Rallycross championship even if the FFSA (French Automobile Sport Federation), decision-making body, had not yet ruled on the fate of the competition. Done.

After studying numerous solutions “ the constraints decreed by the administrative authorities as well as the evolution of the health context in the departments concerned by the events planned in the new calendar did not make it possible to organize three of the four rounds », writes the Federation initially which had no other choice than to give up on the French Rallycross championship and not only.

« Therefore, the FFSA takes note of the impossibility of organizing the French Rallycross Championship, the Junior Championship and the 2020 French Cup in acceptable and reasonable conditions, both sporting and health-wise. ».

With the cancellation made official, the FFSA and AFOR have already set their sights on 2021 and the organization of the next edition of the French Rallycross championship.
