IMG revealed the route that will be used on the Yas Marina Circuit complex in Abu Dhabi at the beginning of April.

Abu Dhabi circuit revealed

New round on the calendar for World Championship Rallycross this year, the Abu Dhabi event will be contested in the Yas Marina Circuit complex, scene for several seasons of the final of the F1.

The track, where the drivers entered in World RX this year will begin on April 5 and 6, was unveiled this weekend on the sidelines of an official presentation in the United Arab Emirates.

Muhammed ben Sulayem, multiple Middle East rally champion and president of the Emirates Automobile and Touring Club, was able to discover the route at the wheel of a GRX RX2.

 

 

GRX drivers Niclas Grönholm, Timur Timerzyanov and Reinis Nitiss, but also Oliver Bennett (Xite Racing) were also able to get a first impression of the circuit.

“The track is great, says Bennett. There are lots of interesting points with big turns on asphalt which will be perfect for overtaking. The track will be tough, but it will be fun to watch. »

Long 1 200 m and designed partly in what constitutes the end of the first sector of the F1 circuit, the track will be made up of 63% asphalt portions and 37% earth/gravel areas.
