Global Rallycross gives more details

The promoters of the future Global series Rallycross have revealed several elements on the establishment of the new championship intended to compete with the World RX and to take advantage of the uncertainties agitating the World Championship.

The promoter MJP Promotions run by Max Pucher notably announced that Global Rallycross Europe would be based on a calendar of 6 rounds with 11 or 12 races. Two rounds have been revealed: Lydden Hill on July 27 and 28 and Montalegre (August 10 and 11).

The events will include two categories: the GRC Titans with a 530hp engine for a weight of 1100kg and the GRC Supercars with 580hp for 1300kg.

“Here is MJP Promotions' detailed strategy to allow Rallycross to regain its status with drivers at the highest level and return to the action that arouses passion among fans. Evolving on classic circuits is the most important element to achieve this, comments Max Pucher, fervent opponent of World RX since the announcement of electric. I would like to thank the promoters of Montalegre for their support of Rallycross despite recent developments. We look forward to seeing more than 10 spectators. Lydden Hill was vital to the GRC and it is a fantastic achievement to have them on board. We will confirm the next events soon. »

MJP Promotions plans to subsequently launch other GRC series around the world as well as a grand final to recognize the grand winner of all series combined.

The GRCs are based on Silhouette-type cars with specific bodies reminiscent of the lines of certain touring models.
