Sébastien Loeb Racing will remain in World RX

The Sebastian Loeb Racing does not appear in the list of permanent entries for the 2019 World RX season, but the entity of Dominique Heintz confirmed that it would remain involved in the discipline by competing in several rounds after having been engaged full time last year with Grégoire Demoustier on a Peugeot 208 WRX.

“A World RX season is prepared a year in advance, explained the boss of the SLR team during the press conference organized in Paris. We were ready but we have to put the context into perspective with the withdrawal of Peugeot. We did not then think we would be collateral victims of this decision, but today we have two cars in the workshop ready to run. We are convinced that this discipline has a great future and we will remain present. We will be present at several rounds which have yet to be defined and we have already carried out tests. »

Sébastien Loeb Racing has not given any information on the models concerned or on the drivers likely to participate in World RX. The tricolor structure should probably be present on several European rounds, where the costs are the least important.

“We will continue to be involved in RX because it is a discipline in which we believe, confirmed Sébastien Loeb, the former resident of Peugeot. We had a driver (Grégoire Demoustier) who wanted to compete in a complete championship and who was very involved. Everyone suffered from Peugeot's withdrawal, not just me, since all the manufacturers withdrew. It was a hard blow for the discipline. The championship has refocused a little more on amateurs, but this championship will have a future with electric because this technology is perfectly suited to racing and it will end up working. This is also a project for our team. »
