It is not in 2020 that the World Championship of rallycross (World RX) will once again see the windy hill of Montalegre (Portugal). A time announced for a surprise return to the calendar due to the repercussions of the coronavirus, the Portuguese event is canceled… again because of Covid-19.

Indeed, the resurgence of cases in the country forced the national authorities this Tuesday, September 15, to introduce stricter measures concerning gatherings of people and travel.
However, the organizers end their press release on an optimistic note: “We look forward to welcoming drivers, teams and fans to this world-class event in 2021.”
The World RX only counts nine meetings in 2020, with now a one-month break between Riga (Latvia, September 19-20) and Barcelona (Spain, October 17-18).
