World RX still in discussions for an arrival in Asia

Europe, Africa, North America this year with the Austin meeting... the World Championship Rallycross visits most continents in 2018, with the exception of South America, registered until 2016 with Argentina, and Asia.

This last territory constitutes the next hobby horse of the promoter IMG as recalled once again by Paul Bellamy, director of the entity. « We must have at least one round in Asia in the coming years, Bellamy admitted to us in Barcelona last weekend for the season opener.

We are in discussions with two organizers in China, as well as with other promoters in neighboring countries. »

The series manager, however, highlights the historic events located in Europe that World RX does not intend to abandon. “We want to have more beautiful tracks, but we also want to keep rounds of Lohéac (Ille-et-Vilaine), Hell (Norway), or Höljes (Sweden). »

The World RX, on the other hand, replaced the legendary Lydden Hill event in England with a new destination on the Silverstone track. A track which will be visited in competition on the weekend of May 26 and 27, after hosting pre-season tests.
