Final round of the World Championship rallycross 2018 (World RX) in Europe, the trip to Estering (Germany, October 12-13) has its final entry list. After the fifteen or so cars lined up in Texas At the end of September, there will be 21 of them battling it out on one of the most spectacular tracks of the season.
Among the newcomers, let us note the first participation at world level in Supercar for Cyril Raymond. The two-time RX2 winner comes off a Euro RX campaign sanctioned by a vice-champion position on his Peugeot 208 RX. The Frenchman will launch into World RX with his own structure, as was announced a few months earlier.

Le GC Competition reunites with Liam Doran, who had only participated in the Americas Rallycross in the United States. Oliver Bennett (Mini) also makes his return, while two Nordic drivers travel to Germany. Kjetil Larsen, host of Euro RX, arrives with a Volkswagen Polo; Mikko Ikonen (NordicRX participant) will be present with a Ford Fiesta.
An exciting route
The Estering circuit has a very demanding first corner. “It’s a fantastic turnaround. You approach it at high speed, apply the handbrake and you go sliding”, explains Mattias Ekström (Audi). In 2016, Kevin Eriksson had performed a superb overtaking maneuver from the outside, an image that has remained famous in the history of the young championship.
"It's a very tight pin, continues Pernilla Solberg, Team Principal of the PSRX Volkswagen. I think there is an expression in English like “Trying to fit a square peg in a round hole” (which could be translated as “trying to push a square peg into a round hole”. Editor’s note). This looks like what’s going to happen this weekend! »
