Entries for the 2018 World RX season

The permanent entry list for the 2018 World RX season was revealed the day after the end of the official tests in Lohéac (Ille-et-Vilaine).

Among the official structures, six brands will be represented compared to four last year with once again six teams registered.

EKS will field its new Audi S1s for Mattias Ekström and Andreas Bakkerud, while PSRX Team Sweden will leave with its Polos now accompanied by the “R” designation compared to “GTI” last year. Petter Solberg and defending champion Johan Kristoffersson will remain behind the wheel. The Team Peugeot Total (formerly Team Peugeot-Hansen) will field a 208 for Sébastien Loeb and Timmy Hansen.

Alongside these three structures already present in 2017, GC Kompetition will present two Renault Mégane RS for Guerlain Chicherit and Jérôme Grosset-Janin. The new French team was present this week at the Lohéac tests but only with its Clio RS RX which should be lined up for a few rounds of the World Championship and with which the boss-driver will compete in the French Championship. Philippe Maloigne will also be planned at the start of several events with this model.

GRX Taneco Team, la structure de Marcus Grönholm, sera bien présente avec Niclas Grönholm et Timur Timerzyanov, en alignant les nouvelles Hyundai i20. L’équipe finlandaise n’a pas fait le déplacement aux tests disputés en Bretagne.

Olsbergs MSE will make its return by fielding a new Ford Fiesta for his son Kevin as well as former European champion Robin Larsson.

As for private entries, Team Peugeot Total will field a 208 version 2017 for Kevin Hansen. Another Sochaux model will be fielded by Sébastien Loeb Racing for Grégoire Demoustier. Team Stard, testing this week in Lohéac, will be present with a Fiesta for Janis Baumanis.

With 15 permanent entries, World RX will still be able to accommodate around ten drivers per round. Comtoyou Racing should notably be present on several rounds with Enzo Ide aligned with an old Audi purchased from EKS.
