Loeb and Peugeot dominate the first day at Montalegre

Peugeot got off to a good start to his weekend in Montalegre (Portugal), which counts for the second round of World RX. Sebastian Loeb leads at the end of the first two qualifying heats after having set the best time in Q1 and the second in Q2 won by his teammate Timmy Hansen. The Swede follows the nine-time champion of WRC in second row.

Mattias Ekström (Audi), disqualified winner in Barcelona (Spain) earlier this month, completes the provisional podium after finishing in the Top 3 each time in the first heats.

Kevin Eriksson (Ford) and Kevin Hansen (Peugeot) complete the Top 10 ahead of Janis Baumanis (Ford) and Timur Timerzyanov (Hyundai).

Jérôme Grosset-Janin (Renault) will have to increase his pace in the next two qualifying heats to hope to compete in the semi-finals since he is only in 14th position between Robin Larsson (Ford) and Grégoire Demoustier (Peugeot).

The Montalegre meeting will be broadcast live this Sunday from 16 p.m. on the L'Équipe channel.
