Loeb: “The next few weeks will be decisive”

Sébastien Loeb won a final podium on the Killarney circuit in Cape Town (South Africa) before turning the page on the program Peugeot Sport in World RX. The nine-time champion WRC will have been the only one to have won this season against Johan Kristoffersson (Volkswagen), author of 11 successes in 12 rounds.

“The weekend ended with a meal and an evening with the entire Peugeot Sport team. Farewells after an adventure where everyone gave their all, declared the Alsatian. We all worked hard, including the arrival of new developments mid-season. I really want to thank them again and even though we didn't win as much as we would have hoped, they can all be proud of how far we've come. I really have a thought for everyone and also for the entire Hansen family. THE Rallycross, it’s their life. They have given so much energy to this program that they are going through a delicate period. I also wish them to bounce back as quickly as possible and thank them for welcoming me into the Rallycross family during these years. »

Sébastien Loeb is now studying options to continue racing. The winner of the last Rally of Catalonia could notably still do some stints in WRC with Citroën and/or continue in Rallycross via his team, Sébastien Loeb Racing, already present this year with Grégoire Demoustier.

“I know you're all hoping I'll tell you more about my 2019 schedule...Believe me, I'd love to know too! One thing is certain, the next few weeks will be decisive and I am working hard to find solutions. I study all possibilities, in several disciplines. I am always thirsty for new challenges and challenges! I can also assure you one thing, I will be behind a wheel in 2019! Yes, at the Dakar! »

Sébastien Loeb will indeed be entered for the 4th time in the Dakar with a Peugeot 3008DKR entered by the private team PH Sport. This edition will be special since it will only be contested in Peru.

“This is exactly what we needed with Danos to really “have a fight”! It's going to be cool ! Dunes, navigation, in short, our favorite terrain! A big hassle awaits us but that's why we decided to go back so let's not complain! », added the Alsatian.
