Mattias Ekström joins World RX as sporting director

In his new role, Mattias Ekström will work closely with Executive Director Arne Dirks and the rest of the RXP team, as well as all key stakeholders, to develop and grow the World RX Championship. across the board, as the series prepares to begin its electric second season.
The Swede brings with him his experience as world champion of rallycross in 2016, when his team EKS also won the teams championship title. Ekström has finished in the top two overall four times.

« As Sporting Director, I will represent Rallycross Promoter in all sporting matters relating to the World Championship, from the format to commercial and sponsorship matters and, more broadly, the overall product. I want to use my experience to strengthen the series at this important point in its history. This means that I will work closely with drivers, teams, circuits, partners and the FIA, as well as with Arne [Dirks] and the rest of the Rallycross Promoter team. »
