Meslier wins at Kerlabo

On the front row alongside Marc Laboulle, David Meslier took full advantage of his opponent's failed start to take the lead of the race and never let go until the finish. And yet, the weekend had once again started in the best possible way for the leader of the French championship, Marc Laboulle. As he has become accustomed to since the start of the year, Marc Laboulle showed himself to be imperious during timed practice to claim a sixth pole position in seven starts.

But when the lights went out, Laboulle was overtaken by David Meslier, Philippe Tollemer (Citroën WRC ") and Jérôme Grosset-Janin (Citroën C4 "WRC"). Laboulle had no choice but to take the joker turn? two seconds slower – from the first lap. At the front, Meslier maintained his leading position and took the joker lap on the fourth of the six laps of the race. Overtaken by Grosset-Janin, Meslier however recovered his position just after, followed by Laboulle who managed to overcome his opponents one by one to fail in second place at the checkered flag. At the top of the championship, Laboulle, however, saw his lead reduced from 15 to 12 points.

In D1A, Samuel Peu (Citroën Saxo kit car) failed to score another victory. Starting in pole position, the leader of the general classification was surprised by Davy Jeanney (Peugeot 206 Super 1600). Few then tried a poker game by taking the slow turn from the second round. In front, Jeanney increased his lead and went through the joker lap on the fifth lap. He came out right in front of Peu who was pressing on. At the finish, Samuel Peu failed 65/1000th of a second behind Jeanney but nevertheless maintained his lead in the championship over Deslandes and Guillemette, tied for second, 34 points behind the D1A leader.
