P. Germain: “Proof that I was saying what everyone thinks”

The small town of Lohéac (Ille-et-Vilaine, 657 inhabitants in 2015) will see tens of thousands of spectators flock over the weekend of September 1 and 2. The reason for such enthusiasm: the arrival of the World Championship of rallycross (World RX) for the only French round of the discipline. The Lohéac Rallycross and Ecurie Bretagne team led by Patrick Germain (750 people mobilized) bends over backwards for the event.

That’s good, this character from the world of RX is the subject of Carpooling from n°2180 ofCARhebdo, on sale in digital version and on newsstands. The opportunity to look back on Lohéac's arrival in World RX in 2014. “We were the first, with the organizers of Höljes (Sweden), to be contacted by IMG, the World RX promotion company.

I was put in touch with a very competent lawyer and we obtained a stipulation in the contract that Lohéac constituted the largest European channel and that we were an association made up of volunteers in contrast to an American multinational.", He explains.

Patrick Germain caused quite a commotion at the beginning of August with a letter denouncing the conditions of arrival of electric in RX. A few weeks later, he repeated his analysis. “I had proof that I was saying out loud what everyone else was thinking. Today, we only make money from the public and we cannot blindly trust this formula which will not attract spectators without knowing what thermal Rallycross will become. »
